The U.S. was the first in the 1970s to initiate activity around identifying harmful chemicals in our cosmetics. At the time, we banned 10 chemical ingredients from cosmetics and grandfathered in all the remaining chemicals in production at the time (82,000 of them). The same law still protects these chemicals from being questioined and removed from our products. |
